Well there you have it folks.... another Juneau sailing season goes down in the history books. One of the better ones in recent memory with all the good sailing days and sunny days... which didn't always necessarily coincide but none the less made for an overall good sailing season. With several new additions to the SEAS fleet, only in it's first year by the way, next year looks to be a good year with some stiff competition amongst the ranks. At any rate, here is the breakdown for the 2009 season: SEAS Cup: - First Place: Haiku skippered by Brian Lieb - Second Place: Lyric skippered by Jim Greene - Third Place: Sarah Jane skippered by Jay and Jane Ginter Spirit of Admiralty: - First Place: Haiku skippered by Brian Lieb - Second Place: High Noon Skippered by Mike Rentel and Karen Schmitt - Third Place: Smoke Skippered by David Pichard Special note on Spirit of Admiralty: Haiku won first place according to US Sailing rules and High Noon won the perpetual trophy for fastest combined times for the series. Also, if you haven't gotten your 2009 SEAS Cup racing hat as of yet please contact Mr. Jim Mahan via the SEAS contact form and let him know how many you want for you and your crew. Other news: We will be accepting nominations soon for next years board member positions. This will be open to current members of SEAS. We will send out instructions when we are ready to accept nominations via the web site. Cheers. - S/V Smoke
