Spirit of Admiralty

2021 Spirit of Admiralty

The around admiralty sailboat race was conceived on the 25th Anniversary year of Alaska’s Statehood.  Commemorating the spirit of adventure, comradery, and endurance that characterizes the people of Alaska, and thirty-seven years later, this race has not lost any of that adventurous spirit.

Spirit Podcast

In the meantime, you can listen to the podcast about the Spirit as told by Anthony Crupi, Brian Lieb, Sean Boily, and Dave D'Amore, right here:

Spirit of Admiralty

06/20/2015 - 00:00 to 06/26/2015 - 00:00

30 years ago, a group of Juneau sailors circumnavigated Admiralty Island in a sailboat race to commemorate the 25th year of statehood.  The longest inland water race on the west coast is the crown jewel of sailboat racing in Juneau.

Sailor's Talk and PIYA requirements

SEAS had a really good turn out tonight for Sailor's Talk.  I didn't count heads but I would imagine there were a dozen people there including new boat owners as well as new crew members.  Jim Mahan gave a presentation on the upcoming Spirit of Adventure Around Admiralty Race with some lively discussion by those of us who've done the race and those who want to do it.  Our Commodore, Sean Boiley, went over the PIYA safety requirements for the SEAS Cup series and the Admiralty race, which are located at this link.
