Glacier Bay Cruise

S/V Tango and family crew plan to depart Downtown Juneau on July 17, participating in the Douglas Backslider race and continuing on to Glacier Bay to spend the following week exploring the area. We intend to return to Tenakee on the 23rd or 24th, and then to continue on to Funter Bay on the 25th to meet up with the Funter Bay Hooky fleet for the final race leg back to Auke Bay on July 26th.

Traveling in a group is a lot of fun, and as some of us have found on a recent Admiralty Cruise it is always great to have friends around to back you up while venturing into the unknown.

To participate in this SEAS cruise, we would ask that any participating boats get a 2010 Coast Guard Auxiliary inspection. It free, and you can schedule it.

Note – travel in glacier Bay requires a permit, which are limited in number and must be applied for within 60 days of the anticipate visit dates. http://www.nps.gov/glba/planyourvisit/boat.htm Permits for this trip can be applied for as of the 20th of May. Each boat will be responsible for getting a permit.

If you have your boat prepared for some independent and self sufficient cruising this summer and are interested in forming a flotilla on these dates, contact Sean Boily to discuss and plan. Sean’s cell: 321-4131 or contact us.
