Jay Ginter Memorial Rally, a great weekend of sailing

Jay Ginter Memorial Day Regatta delivered a beautiful weekend of sailing.
Leg one found our fleet enjoying a light breeze in the channel which carried the six competing boats to Grand Island where it disappeared. A contrary tide and failing wind allowed only Haiku to finish but all agreed it was a great day to sail.
Under sunny skies the return leg also delivered a great wind. A steady 15-17 knot northerly moved the four boat race past Grand Island but slackened across Taku Inlet. The notorious doldrums triangle between Bishop, Arden and Marmion slowed most , and held on to others for much too long.
But in the end all again agreed it was another great day of sailing. for results see www.seasailing.us/sail/results/index.php
