Party

2018 Awards Party

Sailing appears to be done for the year, so it's obviously time to have a party!  The SEAS board invites you to the annual Awards Party next Friday, November 30th, at McGivney's downtown.  We've rented out the Owner's Box from 6-9pm.  The 2018 awards will be presented, along with the results of the elections for the 2019 board.

End of Summer Party

When:
09/26/2015 - 18:00 to 22:00

The days are getting shorter, fall is in the air, and there's termination dust on the mountains. Time for a party! SouthEast Alaska Sailing (SEAS) is celebrating the End of Summer 2015 at Rockwell's back room, Saturday September 26th from 6:00-10:00pm.

We'll reminisce about the past sailing season and plan winter activities. There will be a running slide show of the summer spent sailing and final standings of the SEAS Cup and Spirit of Admiralty races, along with announcements of upcoming SEAS winter events and information on how you can stay involved with the club.

Wet and Wild

The forecast for Saturday morning’s Admiralty Cove race start was 90% chance of rain and a 10 knot Southeasterly breeze. SEAS racers motored down the Channel to the start line with a steady downpour of rain and not a breath of wind (except the kind a moving boat creates). As the 4-boat fleet of Loa’a Nalu, Haiku, Thalia & Optiminium gathered at Marmion Island for the start, everyone was suited up for the conditions and smiling at a nice breeze. Lyric (WR), serving as Committee Boat, would build anticipation for the start by voicing ‘5-second’ countdowns prior to each timing mark & hitting the horn on a couple others. As boats tacked back & forth below the line, the ripples on the water filled in along the Marmion end of the course and into Stephens Passage.

SEAS Awards Party for 2013

The 2013 sailing season was one of the best in several years, what with the long dry spell, warm temps, and favorable winds.  SEAS enjoyed one of our best sailing seasons since our founding in 2009 and had some genuine excitment during our last race to Taku Harbor.  Race participation was up from the previous year with a few new families and boats making lifelong memories.

Beach Dogs and Sailors

Sailors of all ages gathered on a beach on Admiralty Island this past weekend during the annual SEAS Admiralty Cove Beach Party.

All enjoyed good food, a moderate blaze and the company of old and new friends. One notable absents were the  bugs, they must have missed the invitation.
